Our community will be ambitious, respectful and kind.
Our aim is provide a safe, supportive and challenging environment where everybody has the opportunity to reach their full potential as learners. We believe that this can only be achieved if a child feels happy and secure, and our staff work hard to provide this climate for our pupils.
Each child is made welcome as an individual with their own unique talents, abilities and personality. We hope every child feels valued at Prettygate.
Our handbook is full of useful information about the school's organisation for the current year. However, the best way to learn about the school is to visit us and see for yourself. Please make an appointment if you would like to learn more.
Prettygate Infant School was opened in 1962 to serve the Prettygate housing estate.
The building is light, spacious and well resourced. There are six large classrooms, a library and a "calm room" for small group and individual work with children and parents. The assembly hall is also equipped for physical education.
We are fortunate to have our own large playing field adjacent to the school and an enclosed outdoor area for our early years children. All weather shelters are attached to several classrooms. The playground includes staging, low-rise play equipment, quiet play areas and sheltered seating.
An established wildlife area, sensory garden and Forest School area offer opportunities for outdoor learning. We share the site with Prettygate Junior School.
